Hartling Group consists of a group of companies developed by Stan Hartling who has successfully pioneered over $200 million worth of developments in the Turks & Caicos Islands since 1997.
Prior to taking up residence in the Turks & Caicos Islands, Stan Hartling was a partner in The Barrian Group, a property development company in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. As Partner and Director of Operations, he oversaw the development of retail shopping malls, residential subdivisions, large-scale storage facilities and multi-unit residential projects. In 1995, when The Barrian Group liquidated most of its completed projects, Stan decided to explore development opportunities in international markets.
Mr. Hartling was attracted to the Turks & Caicos Islands for its idyllic weather and pristine beaches as well as for its friendly tax status for both income and capital gains, and the ease of becoming a resident. Sensing that the islands would appeal to investors and holiday-goers alike, Stan began his first development project, The Sands. The unprecedented success of the project, coupled with local government initiatives to upgrade tourist-related infrastructure, prompted Stan to undertake a second, luxury development project with local entrepreneur Mervin Cox (Coxco Construction). The prestigious international recognition garnered by The Palms Turks & Caicos, the $95 million, 72-suite resort, ushered Hartling Group into the upper echelons of the development world.
Recent upgrades to airports, seaports and other tourist facilities continue to attract an increasing number of tourists yearly. With unending azure vistas and tax-friendly status, it’s easy to understand why many of these visitors are choosing the Turks & Caicos Islands as their preferred holiday destination. The Turks and Caicos economy is primarily tourism based and the United States continues to be its leading source of tourists with visitor arrivals surpassing 1 million in 2019.
Hartling Group stands out in the world of developers; the company’s full-service philosophy means that it can see your project from inception and design, through construction and creation, and finally to implementing and overseeing the management of the completed resort. With its wealth of knowledge and commitment to quality, Hartling Group is the partner of choice for any development project in the Turks & Caicos Islands.
Stan Hartling, founder and CEO of The Hartling Group, embarked on his development career in 1989 when he joined The Barrian Group as Partner and Director of Operations. The Barrian Group, based in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, was a developer of retail shopping malls, residential sub-divisions, large-scale storage facilities and multi-unit residential projects.
Six years later, in 1995, when the Barrian Group liquidated most of its completed projects, Stan decided to explore development and management opportunities in international markets. That decision led him to the Turks & Caicos Islands where he continues to promote his rare development philosophy.
